Heroes III Map Download Page

Here's a collection of maps that have been sent to me or that I downloaded recently. I've divided them up into several distinct categories to give a better description of what the map is about, but I won't get into more detail than that because I'll eventually have so many maps that this page will become astronomically long. Be sure to visit my Best of the Best page where I'll list (and comment on) the highest quality maps that I've seen. By the way, most of these maps require the latest patches, so if you don't have them, run GameUpdate and get them!

Since I am starting to receive Armageddon's Blade maps, and to a lesser extent Shadow of Death maps, I needed a way to differentiate between them. Color coding was the simplest solution. Original maps are in blue, AB maps are in orange, and SOD maps are in green.

Role Playing Maps (8)

RPG Maps are those that aren't intended to be played in standard Heroes III fashion. They are played like a role playing game, and usually have an in-depth storyline.

Map Series (7, 25 total maps)

This section contains maps that are part of a continuing story. With the addition of a campaign editor in the Heroes III Expansion Pack, they will most likely become mini-campaigns. Average difficulty is based on ranking each individual map's difficulty from 1 to 5 (1 is easy) and then finding the average of the total.

Map Remakes (4)

There are two different types of map remakes, a makeover and a conversion. A map makeover involves opening an existing Heroes III map and erasing all the objects to start from scratch with just a landmass. Conversions are more difficult. They are carefully drawn versions of old HOMM maps (1 or 2) to make them playable in Heroes III.
